LP5 MOTION Rally simulator

The LP5 MOTION Rally simulator is assembled, configured and tested in the LPSIMU workshop. Its LPSIMU 4 chassis carries three 45-inch LG displays, a Simucube 3 Pro Direct Drive base and a Sparco R323 wheel.

Two Simucube ActivePedal Pro units and one Co-Pedal, a BDH H-Pattern + Sequential shifter, MME handbrake and Sim-Lab Push-Pull Rally provide the rally controls. D-BOX GEN5 actuators move the chassis, while the Qubic System QS-BT1 separately tensions the Sabelt six-point harness. The LP5 PC includes an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D and MSI RTX 5080 16 GB.

A CLOSER LOOK AT LP5 MOTION RALLY

Clear feedback through every rally stage.

01 / THE CHASSIS

A driving position built around you.

The LPSIMU 4 chassis carries the Sabelt SRX-1 seat on rails and a stainless steel slider. LPSIMU assembles and adjusts the cockpit so the wheel, pedals and rally controls work together in a coherent driving position.

On a rally stage, braking, turning in and correcting the car demand a position the driver can find again quickly. The rigid cockpit helps separate feedback from the controls from movement in the structure itself.

02 / FORCE FEEDBACK AND WHEEL

Read grip through the wheel.

The Simucube 3 Pro direct-drive base drives the Sparco R323 wheel. The shaft extension and Simucube Link Hub are included. Force feedback helps convey changes in load and supports precise steering corrections.

LPSIMU tunes force feedback so steering load on fast sections and grip changes on loose surfaces remain readable. The aim is to understand the car and time the correction, rather than drive with force set to maximum.

03 / THE PEDALS

An active brake for precise modulation.

The pedal set combines two Simucube ActivePedal Pro units and a Co-Pedal. Travel, resistance and force curves can be tuned for the car you are driving.

The brake delivers ABS feedback underfoot: you feel pressure build and can release it progressively before a corner. The second ActivePedal also gives another control an adjustable feel. Together, these cues support precise, consistent inputs on every stage.

Rally shifter and handbrake mounted beside the driving seat

04 / RALLY CONTROLS

The right control for each rally stage.

The BDH H-Pattern + Sequential shifter, MME handbrake and Sim-Lab Push-Pull Rally control put gear changes and handbrake input within reach. Sequential shifting suits modern rally cars; where the shifter offers an H-pattern, it recreates the gear change of older cars. The handbrake is useful in hairpins and to initiate rotation, depending on the car and simulation.

Separate controls let you practise braking, downshifting and accelerating as one repeatable sequence.

05 / DISPLAYS AND PC

Three screens to read the track around you.

Three 45-inch LG displays extend the view to either side. The LP5 PC combines an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, MSI RTX 5080 16 GB, 32 GB of DDR5 memory and a 2 TB NVMe SSD. Performance depends on the game and settings.

Three screens extend the image into peripheral vision. They help drivers judge speed, distance and nearby cars without compressing the whole scene into a windscreen view. The car’s placement, apex and corner exit become easier to follow. LPSIMU sets the screen angles around the driving position.

06 / COCKPIT AND EQUIPMENT

A complete setup ready to drive.

The Sabelt SRX-1 seat, Bavarian Dash DDU5, Stream Deck and the accessories listed under Components are integrated into the cockpit. LPSIMU assembles, configures and tests the setup before delivery.

Supporting the driver in the seat makes cockpit feedback easier to read. Attention stays on hands, feet and road rather than on finding a position in the seat. Its adjustments are checked with the rest of the setup.

Stream Deck and secondary cockpit controls

07 / COCKPIT CONTROLS

Useful controls within easy reach.

The Stream Deck acts as a cockpit control panel. Depending on the configured software and shortcuts, it can launch a simulation, access cars and tracks, recall settings, open support functions or operate useful controls during a session.

Drivers can stay focused on the car instead of repeatedly reaching for a keyboard or mouse. LPSIMU arranges the shortcuts around your use.

D-BOX actuators viewed from the rear of the chassis near floor level

08 / D-BOX MOTION

Feel the chassis move beneath you.

D-BOX GEN5 actuators beneath the chassis move the cockpit and add vibrations in response to events in the simulation. Acceleration, braking, cornering load, kerbs and track texture become physical cues. Their intensity can be adjusted to the driver.

Motion complements the direct-drive wheelbase and pedals. Enthusiasts and real-world drivers can connect what they see with the car’s response and refine their driving markers. LPSIMU tunes the complete system to keep those cues clear.

Rear view of the cockpit and harness connected to the Qubic belt tensioner

09 / BELT TENSIONER

A harness that responds to braking.

The Qubic System QS-BT1 changes the tension of the six-point Sabelt harness using telemetry from the simulation. Under braking, the harness tightens and adds a physical cue to pedal input. Changes in tension also reflect acceleration and shifts in vehicle load.

This feedback helps drivers read the car through their body, alongside the wheelbase, pedals and actuators. LPSIMU tunes it to work coherently with the rest of the cockpit.

Mains power socket and RJ45 Ethernet port connected

10 / SIMPLE CONNECTIONS

One plug. Ready to drive.

Our cable management brings power for the cockpit, PC and peripherals together on a single 220–230 V socket, whatever setup you choose.

For online racing, we recommend an RJ45 Ethernet connection for a stable network link.

11 / READY-TO-RACE SOFTWARE

Assetto Corsa, ready for your first laps.

We install and configure the original Assetto Corsa in our workshop. A broad selection of cars and French circuits is ready on the simulator, so you can get on track from your first session.

Other racing simulations are available as an option.

How is the cost per lap calculated?

01Estimated simulator laps = hours per week × weeks per year × years of use × 60 ÷ average lap length in minutes.

02Simulator cost per lap = (simulator price + annual running costs × years of use) ÷ estimated simulator laps.

03Track cost per lap = full cost of a track day ÷ laps driven that day. Multiply this by the estimated simulator laps to see the cost of the same number of laps on track. Track days per year show the annual track budget.

Drive when it suits you

Fit in a quick session at home, without planning a full track day.

Repeat to refine your technique

Revisit the same corner, braking point and racing line as often as you need.

Make more of every track day

Work on your reference points between real-world outings, then put them to use on track.

Indicative calculation: simulator price and the annual running costs you enter, divided by estimated laps. Add electricity, subscriptions or maintenance to those costs if applicable. Track-day budgets vary; simulator practice complements real driving.
